Eternity in God's Perspective

"Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night."
- Psalm 90:2,4 (NIV)

Have you ever wondered what eternity would look like? How can we even begin to understand something that has no end? The truth is, we can't. Our minds are too limited to grasp the concept of eternity, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to understand it.

Psalm 90:2,4 reminds us that God is from everlasting to everlasting. He has no beginning and no end. Before the mountains were born, before the world was created, God existed. Our time on earth is like a fleeting moment in God's eyes. A thousand years is like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.

When we think about our problems, our worries, and our struggles, we need to remember that they are temporary. We may feel like our problems will never go away, but in God's perspective, they are nothing. Our time on earth is limited, but our eternity with God is not. We need to focus on eternity and not get bogged down by the temporary problems of this world.

It's not easy to focus on eternity when we're dealing with difficult situations. We tend to get caught up in the here and now, and we forget that our time on earth is short. But if we can remember that our problems are temporary and that our eternity with God is secure, it can give us the strength we need to keep going.

Today's Challenge

Take a moment to think about your problems and worries. Write them down if it helps. Now, think about how they compare to eternity. Are they really that significant in the grand scheme of things? How can you shift your focus to eternity and not get bogged down by temporary problems?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, help us to see things from your perspective. Remind us that our problems are temporary and that our eternity with you is secure. Give us the strength we need to face difficult situations and help us to focus on eternity. Thank you for your everlasting love and grace. In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
