¹Be gracious to me, God, for a man has trampled upon me; Fighting all day long he oppresses me.

²My enemies have trampled upon me all day long, For they are many who fight proudly against me.

³When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.

⁴In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

⁵All day long they distort my words; All their thoughts are against me for evil.

⁶They attack, they lurk, They watch my steps, As they have waited to take my life.

⁷Because of their wickedness, will there be an escape for them? In anger make the peoples fall down, God!

⁸You have taken account of my miseries; Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?

⁹Then my enemies will turn back on the day when I call; This I know, that God is for me.

¹⁰In God, whose word I praise, In the LORD, whose word I praise,

¹¹In God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid. What can mankind do to me?

¹²Your vows are binding upon me, God; I will render thanksgiving offerings to You.

¹³For You have saved my soul from death, Indeed my feet from stumbling, So that I may walk before God In the light of the living.

¹Be gracious to me, God, be gracious to me, For my soul takes refuge in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge Until destruction passes by.

²I will cry to God Most High, To God who accomplishes all things for me.

³He will send from heaven and save me; He rebukes the one who tramples upon me. Selah God will send His favor and His truth.

⁴My soul is among lions; I must lie among those who devour, Among sons of mankind whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue is a sharp sword.

⁵Be exalted above the heavens, God; May Your glory be above all the earth.

⁶They have prepared a net for my steps; My soul is bowed down; They dug a pit before me; They themselves have fallen into the midst of it. Selah

⁷My heart is steadfast, God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!

⁸Awake, my glory! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.

⁹I will praise You, Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to You among the nations.

¹⁰For Your goodness is great to the heavens And Your truth to the clouds.

¹¹Be exalted above the heavens, God; May Your glory be above all the earth.

¹Do you indeed speak righteousness, you gods? Do you judge fairly, you sons of mankind?

²No, in heart you practice injustice; On earth you clear a way for the violence of your hands.

³The wicked have turned away from the womb; These who speak lies go astray from birth.

⁴They have venom like the venom of a serpent; Like a deaf cobra that stops up its ear,

⁵So that it does not hear the voice of charmers, Or a skillful caster of spells.

⁶God, shatter their teeth in their mouth; Break out the fangs of the young lions, LORD.

⁷May they flow away like water that runs off; When he aims his arrows, may they be as headless shafts.

⁸May they be like a snail which goes along in slime, Like the miscarriage of a woman that never sees the sun.

⁹Before your pots can feel the fire of thorns He will sweep them away with a whirlwind, the green and the burning alike.

¹⁰The righteous will rejoice when he sees vengeance; He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

¹¹And people will say, “There certainly is a reward for the righteous; There certainly is a God who judges on the earth!”

¹Rescue me from my enemies, my God; Set me securely on high away from those who rise up against me.

²Rescue me from those who practice injustice, And save me from men of bloodshed.

³For behold, they have set an ambush for my life; Fierce men attack me, Not for my wrongdoing nor for my sin, LORD,

⁴For no guilt of mine, they run and take their stand against me. Stir Yourself to help me, and see!

⁵You, LORD God of armies, the God of Israel, Awake to punish all the nations; Do not be gracious to any who deal treacherously in wrongdoing. Selah

⁶They return at evening, they howl like a dog, And prowl around the city.

⁷Behold, they gush forth with their mouths; Swords are in their lips, For, they say, “Who hears?”

⁸But You, LORD, laugh at them; You scoff at all the nations.

⁹Because of his strength I will watch for You, For God is my refuge.

¹⁰My God in His faithfulness will meet me; God will let me look triumphantly upon my enemies.

¹¹Do not kill them, or my people will forget; Scatter them by Your power and bring them down, Lord, our shield.

¹²On account of the sin of their mouths and the words of their lips, May they even be caught in their pride, And on account of curses and lies which they tell.

¹³Destroy them in wrath, destroy them so that they will no longer exist; So that people may know that God rules in Jacob, To the ends of the earth. Selah

¹⁴They return at evening, they howl like a dog, And prowl around the city.

¹⁵They wander about for food And murmur if they are not satisfied.

¹⁶But as for me, I will sing of Your strength; Yes, I will joyfully sing of Your faithfulness in the morning, For You have been my refuge And a place of refuge on the day of my distress.

¹⁷My strength, I will sing praises to You; For God is my refuge, the God who shows me favor.

¹God, You have rejected us. You have broken us; You have been angry; restore us!

²You have made the land quake, You have split it open; Heal its cracks, for it sways.

³You have made Your people experience hardship; You have given us wine to drink that makes us stagger.

⁴You have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah

⁵That Your beloved may be rescued, Save us with Your right hand, and answer us!

⁶God has spoken in His holiness: “I will triumph, I will divide up Shechem, and measure out the Valley of Succoth.

⁷Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the helmet of My head; Judah is My scepter.

⁸Moab is My washbowl; I will throw My sandal over Edom; Shout loud, Philistia, because of Me!”

⁹Who will bring me into the besieged city? Who will lead me to Edom?

¹⁰Have You Yourself not rejected us, God? And will You not go out with our armies, God?

¹¹Oh give us help against the enemy, For rescue by man is worthless.

¹²Through God we will do valiantly, And it is He who will trample down our enemies.

¹Hear my cry, God; Give Your attention to my prayer.

²From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

³For You have been a refuge for me, A tower of strength against the enemy.

⁴Let me dwell in Your tent forever; Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

⁵For You have heard my vows, God; You have given me the inheritance of those who fear Your name.

⁶You will prolong the king’s life; His years will be like generations.

⁷He will sit enthroned before God forever; Appoint faithfulness and truth that they may watch over him.

⁸So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I may pay my vows day by day.
