Psalms 95-103

Psalms 95

1Come, let’s sing for joy to the LORD, Let’s shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.

2Let’s come before His presence with a song of thanksgiving, Let’s shout joyfully to Him in songs with instruments.

3For the LORD is a great God And a great King above all gods,

4In whose hand are the depths of the earth, The peaks of the mountains are also His.

5The sea is His, for it was He who made it, And His hands formed the dry land.

6Come, let’s worship and bow down, Let’s kneel before the LORD our Maker.

7For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice,

8Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, As on the day of Massah in the wilderness,

9“When your fathers put Me to the test, They tested Me, though they had seen My work.

10For forty years I was disgusted with that generation, And said they are a people who err in their heart, And they do not know My ways.

11Therefore I swore in My anger, They certainly shall not enter My rest.”

Psalms 96

1Sing to the LORD a new song; Sing to the LORD, all the earth.

2Sing to the LORD, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.

3Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.

4For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.

5For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the LORD made the heavens.

6Splendor and majesty are before Him, Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

7Ascribe to the LORD, you families of the peoples, Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

8Ascribe to the LORD the glory of His name; Bring an offering and come into His courtyards.

9Worship the LORD in holy attire; Tremble before Him, all the earth.

10Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved; He will judge the peoples fairly.”

11May the heavens be joyful, and may the earth rejoice; May the sea roar, and all it contains;

12May the field be jubilant, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy

13Before the LORD, for He is coming, For He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness, And the peoples in His faithfulness.

Psalms 97

1The LORD reigns, may the earth rejoice; May the many islands be joyful.

2Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.

3Fire goes before Him And burns up His enemies all around.

4His lightning lit up the world; The earth saw it and trembled.

5The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

6The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples have seen His glory.

7May all those be ashamed who serve carved images, Who boast in idols; Worship Him, all you gods.

8Zion heard this and was joyful, And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced Because of Your judgments, LORD.

9For You are the LORD Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.

10Hate evil, you who love the LORD, Who watches over the souls of His godly ones; He saves them from the hand of the wicked.

11Light is sown like seed for the righteous, And gladness for the upright in heart.

12Be joyful in the LORD, you righteous ones, And praise the mention of His holy name.

Psalms 98

1Sing a new song to the LORD, For He has done wonderful things, His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him.

2The LORD has made His salvation known; He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations.

3He has remembered His graciousness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

4Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth; Be cheerful and sing for joy and sing praises.

5Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre, With the lyre and the sound of melody.

6With trumpets and the sound of the horn Shout joyfully before the King, the LORD.

7May the sea roar and all it contains, The world and those who dwell in it.

8May the rivers clap their hands, May the mountains sing together for joy

9Before the LORD, for He is coming to judge the earth; He will judge the world with righteousness And the peoples with fairness.

Psalms 99

1The LORD reigns, the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned above the cherubim, the earth quakes!

2The LORD is great in Zion, And He is exalted above all the peoples.

3May they praise Your great and awesome name; Holy is He.

4The strength of the King loves justice; You have established order; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.

5Exalt the LORD our God And worship at His footstool; Holy is He.

6Moses and Aaron were among His priests, And Samuel was among those who called on His name; They called upon the LORD and He answered them.

7He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; They kept His testimonies And the statute that He gave them.

8LORD our God, You answered them; You were a forgiving God to them, And yet an avenger of their evil deeds.

9Exalt the LORD our God And worship at His holy hill, For the LORD our God is holy.

Psalms 100

1Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.

2Serve the LORD with jubilation; Come before Him with rejoicing.

3Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

4Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courtyards with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

5For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting And His faithfulness is to all generations.

Psalms 101

1I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, LORD, I will sing praises.

2I will carefully attend to the blameless way. When will You come to me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart.

3I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.

4A perverse heart shall leave me; I will know no evil.

5Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; I will not endure one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart.

6My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; One who walks in a blameless way is one who will serve me.

7One who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house; One who speaks lies shall not maintain his position before me.

8Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, So as to eliminate from the city of the LORD all those who do injustice.

Psalms 102

1Hear my prayer, LORD! And let my cry for help come to You.

2Do not hide Your face from me on the day of my distress; Incline Your ear to me; On the day when I call answer me quickly.

3For my days have ended in smoke, And my bones have been scorched like a hearth.

4My heart has been struck like grass and has withered, Indeed, I forget to eat my bread.

5Because of the loudness of my groaning My bones cling to my flesh.

6I resemble a pelican of the wilderness; I have become like an owl of the ruins.

7I lie awake, I have become like a solitary bird on a housetop.

8My enemies have taunted me all day long; Those who deride me have used my name as a curse.

9For I have eaten ashes like bread, And mixed my drink with weeping

10Because of Your indignation and Your wrath; For You have lifted me up and thrown me away.

11My days are like a lengthened shadow, And I wither away like grass.

12But You, LORD, remain forever, And Your name remains to all generations.

13You will arise and have compassion on Zion; For it is time to be gracious to her, For the appointed time has come.

14Surely Your servants take pleasure in her stones, And feel pity for her dust.

15So the nations will fear the name of the LORD, And all the kings of the earth, Your glory.

16For the LORD has built up Zion; He has appeared in His glory.

17He has turned His attention to the prayer of the destitute And has not despised their prayer.

18This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the LORD:

19For He looked down from His holy height; From heaven the LORD looked upon the earth,

20To hear the groaning of the prisoner, To set free those who were doomed to death,

21So that people may tell of the name of the LORD in Zion, And His praise in Jerusalem,

22When the peoples are gathered together, And the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

23He has broken my strength in the way; He has shortened my days.

24I say, “My God, do not take me away in the middle of my days, Your years are throughout all generations.

25In time of old You founded the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.

26Even they will perish, but You endure; All of them will wear out like a garment; Like clothing You will change them and they will pass away.

27But You are the same, And Your years will not come to an end.

28The children of Your servants will continue, And their descendants will be established before You.”

Psalms 103

1Bless the LORD, my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.

2Bless the LORD, my soul, And do not forget any of His benefits;

3Who pardons all your guilt, Who heals all your diseases;

4Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with favor and compassion;

5Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

6The LORD performs righteous deeds And judgments for all who are oppressed.

7He made known His ways to Moses, His deeds to the sons of Israel.

8The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in mercy.

9He will not always contend with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever.

10He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our guilty deeds.

11For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him.

12As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our wrongdoings from us.

13Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.

14For He Himself knows our form; He is mindful that we are nothing but dust.

15As for man, his days are like grass; Like a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

16When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, And its place no longer knows about it.

17But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting for those who fear Him, And His justice to the children’s children,

18To those who keep His covenant And remember His precepts, so as to do them.

19The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all.

20Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!

21Bless the LORD, all you His angels, You who serve Him, doing His will.

22Bless the LORD, all you works of His, In all places of His dominion; Bless the LORD, my soul!
