Chronological Plan
Read the Bible in the order that the events happened.
Today, we are reading 1 Kings 1-2; Psalm 37, 71, 94.
1 | A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. |
2 | For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. |
3 | Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. |
4 | Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. |
5 | Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. |
6 | And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. |
7 | Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. |
8 | Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. |
9 | For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. |
10 | For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. |
11 | But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. |
12 | The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth. |
13 | The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming. |
14 | The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation. |
15 | Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. |
16 | A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. |
17 | For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous. |
18 | The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be forever. |
19 | They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied. |
20 | But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away. |
21 | The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous showeth mercy, and giveth. |
22 | For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off. |
23 | The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. |
24 | Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. |
25 | I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. |
26 | He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. |
27 | Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell forevermore. |
28 | For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved forever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. |
29 | The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever. |
30 | The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment. |
31 | The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide. |
32 | The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. |
33 | The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged. |
34 | Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it. |
35 | I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. |
36 | Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found. |
37 | Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. |
38 | But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. |
39 | But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. |
40 | And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him. |
1 | In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion. |
2 | Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me. |
3 | Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. |
4 | Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. |
5 | For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth. |
6 | By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee. |
7 | I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge. |
8 | Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honor all the day. |
9 | Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth. |
10 | For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together, |
11 | Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him. |
12 | O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help. |
13 | Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonor that seek my hurt. |
14 | But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more. |
15 | My mouth shall show forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof. |
16 | I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. |
17 | O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. |
18 | Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have showed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come. |
19 | Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee! |
20 | Thou, which hast showed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. |
21 | Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side. |
22 | I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel. |
23 | My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed. |
24 | My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt. |
1 | O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, show thyself. |
2 | Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud. |
3 | LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph? |
4 | How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? |
5 | They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thine heritage. |
6 | They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. |
7 | Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it. |
8 | Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise? |
9 | He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see? |
10 | He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know? |
11 | The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. |
12 | Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law; |
13 | That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. |
14 | For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance. |
15 | But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it. |
16 | Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? |
17 | Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence. |
18 | When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. |
19 | In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul. |
20 | Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? |
21 | They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood. |
22 | But the LORD is my defense; and my God is the rock of my refuge. |
23 | And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off. |
