Chronological Plan
Read the Bible in the order that the events happened.
Today, we are reading 2 Kings 18:1-8; 2 Chronicles 29-31; Psalm 48.
1 | Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign. |
2 | Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah. |
3 | And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did. |
4 | He removed the high places, and broke the images, and cut down the groves, and broke in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. |
5 | He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. |
6 | For he cleaved to the LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses. |
7 | And the LORD was with him; and he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not. |
8 | He smote the Philistines, even unto Gaza, and the borders thereof, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city. |
1 | A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. |
2 | Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. |
3 | God is known in her palaces for a refuge. |
4 | For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together. |
5 | They saw it, and so they marveled; they were troubled, and hasted away. |
6 | Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail. |
7 | Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind. |
8 | As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it forever. Selah. |
9 | We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple. |
10 | According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness. |
11 | Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments. |
12 | Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof. |
13 | Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following. |
14 | For this God is our God forever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death. |
