Today, we are reading Matthew 6:5-15; Matthew 7:7-11; Philippians 4:4-9.
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seenof men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions,as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11
Give us this day our daily bread.
12
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.Amen.
14
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9
Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
5
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
