B-1melloVerbG3195

"to be about to do anything, or to delay," is used in connection with a following verb in the sense of "almost," in Act 21:27, lit., "And when the seven days were about to be completed." In Act 26:28 the AV, "Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian" obscures the sense; the RV rightly has "with but little persuasion;" lit., "in a little." See ABOUT, B.
