Behalf

"a part," is translated "behalf" in the AV of 2Co 9:3 (RV, "respect") and 1Pe 4:16; here the most authentic texts have onoma, "a name;" hence RV, "in this name." See COAST, CRAFT, PART, PIECE, PORTION, RESPECT, SORT.

"on behalf of," is to be distinguished from anti, "instead of." See Note +, p. 9.
