Enmity

from the adjective echthros (see ENEMY) is rendered "enmity" in Luk 23:12, Rom 8:7, Eph 1:2-16, Jam 4:4; "enmities," Gal 5:20, RV, for AV, "hatred." It is the opposite of agape, "love."
