Preeminence (to have the)

"to be first" (protos), "to be preeminent," is used of Christ in relation to the Church, Col 1:18.

lit., "to love to be preeminent" (philos, "loving"), "to strive to be first," is said of Diotrephes, 3Jo 1:9.
