primarily "a seeking, search" (zeteo, "to seek"), for which see DISPUTATION, is used in Joh 3:25, Act 25:20, RV, "(being perplexed) how to inquire (concerning these things)," AV "(because I doubted of such manner) of questions," lit., "being perplexed as to the inquiry (or discussion) concerning these things;" in 1Ti 1:4 (in some mss.); 1Ti 6:4, 2Ti 2:23, Tit 3:9.
