Saw asunder

"to saw asunder," occurs in Heb 11:37. Some have seen here a reference to the tradition of Isaiah's martyrdom under Manasseh. In the Sept., Amo 1:3. Cp. diaprio, "to cut to the heart," Act 5:33, Act 7:54.
