Vouchsafe

"to agree," is found in the best texts in Act 7:17, and rendered "vouchsafed," RV, with reference to God's promise to Abraham; some mss. have omosen, "swore" (omnumi, "to swear"), as in AV. See CONFESS, PROFESS, PROMISE, THANKS, B, Note.
