Psalms 112-118

Psalms 112

1Praise the LORD! Blessed is a person who fears the LORD, Who greatly delights in His commandments.

2His descendants will be mighty on the earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed.

3Wealth and riches are in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.

4Light shines in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious, compassionate, and righteous.

5It goes well for a person who is gracious and lends; He will maintain his cause in judgment.

6For he will never be shaken; The righteous will be remembered forever.

7He will not fear bad news; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.

8His heart is firm, he will not fear, But will look with satisfaction on his enemies.

9He has given freely to the poor, His righteousness endures forever; His horn will be exalted in honor.

10The wicked will see it and be vexed, He will gnash his teeth and melt away; The desire of the wicked will perish.

Psalms 113

1Praise the LORD! Praise Him, you servants of the LORD, Praise the name of the LORD.

2Blessed be the name of the LORD From this time on and forever.

3From the rising of the sun to its setting, The name of the LORD is to be praised.

4The LORD is high above all nations; His glory is above the heavens.

5Who is like the LORD our God, Who is enthroned on high,

6Who looks far down to The heavens and the earth?

7He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the garbage heap,

8To seat them with noblemen, With the noblemen of His people.

9He has the infertile woman live in the house As a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD!

Psalms 114

1When Israel went forth from Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of a foreign language,

2Judah became His sanctuary; Israel, His dominion.

3The sea looked and fled; The Jordan turned back.

4The mountains skipped like rams, The hills, like lambs.

5What ails you, sea, that you flee? Jordan, that you turn back?

6Mountains, that you skip like rams? Hills, like lambs?

7Tremble, earth, before the Lord, Before the God of Jacob,

8Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of water.

Psalms 115

1Not to us, LORD, not to us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, because of Your truth.

2Why should the nations say, “Where, then, is their God?”

3But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.

4Their idols are silver and gold, The work of human hands.

5They have mouths, but they cannot speak; They have eyes, but they cannot see;

6They have ears, but they cannot hear; They have noses, but they cannot smell;

7They have hands, but they cannot feel; They have feet, but they cannot walk; They cannot make a sound with their throat.

8Those who make them will become like them, Everyone who trusts in them.

9Israel, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield.

10House of Aaron, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield.

11You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield.

12The LORD has been mindful of us; He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.

13He will bless those who fear the LORD, The small together with the great.

14May the LORD increase you, You and your children.

15May you be blessed of the LORD, Maker of heaven and earth.

16The heavens are the heavens of the LORD, But the earth He has given to the sons of mankind.

17The dead do not praise the LORD, Nor do any who go down into silence;

18But as for us, we will bless the LORD From this time and forever. Praise the LORD!

Psalms 116

1I love the LORD, because He hears My voice and my pleas.

2Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

3The snares of death encompassed me And the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow.

4Then I called upon the name of the LORD: “Please, LORD, save my life!”

5Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate.

6The LORD watches over the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me.

7Return to your rest, my soul, For the LORD has dealt generously with you.

8For You have rescued my soul from death, My eyes from tears, And my feet from stumbling.

9I shall walk before the LORD In the land of the living.

10I believed when I said, “I am greatly afflicted.”

11I said in my alarm, “All people are liars.”

12What shall I repay to the LORD For all His benefits to me?

13I will lift up the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of the LORD.

14I will pay my vows to the LORD; May it be in the presence of all His people!

15Precious in the sight of the LORD Is the death of His godly ones.

16O LORD, I surely am Your slave, I am Your slave, the son of Your female slave, You have unfastened my restraints.

17I will offer You a sacrifice of thanksgiving, And call upon the name of the LORD.

18I will pay my vows to the LORD, May it be in the presence of all His people,

19In the courtyards of the LORD’S house, In the midst of you, Jerusalem! Praise the LORD!

Psalms 117

1Praise the LORD, all nations; Sing His praises, all peoples!

2For His mercy toward us is great, And the truth of the LORD is everlasting. Praise the LORD!

Psalms 118

1Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His mercy is everlasting.

2Let Israel say, “His mercy is everlasting.”

3Oh let the house of Aaron say, “His mercy is everlasting.”

4Let those who fear the LORD say, “His mercy is everlasting.”

5From my distress I called upon the LORD; The LORD answered me and put me in an open space.

6The LORD is for me; I will not fear; What can man do to me?

7The LORD is for me among those who help me; Therefore I will look with satisfaction on those who hate me.

8It is better to take refuge in the LORD Than to trust in people.

9It is better to take refuge in the LORD Than to trust in noblemen.

10All nations surrounded me; In the name of the LORD I will certainly fend them off.

11They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me; In the name of the LORD I will certainly fend them off.

12They surrounded me like bees; They were extinguished like a fire of thorn bushes; In the name of the LORD I will certainly fend them off.

13You pushed me violently so that I was falling, But the LORD helped me.

14The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.

15The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the LORD performs valiantly.

16The right hand of the LORD is exalted; The right hand of the LORD performs valiantly.

17I will not die, but live, And tell of the works of the LORD.

18The LORD has disciplined me severely, But He has not turned me over to death.

19Open the gates of righteousness to me; I will enter through them, I will give thanks to the LORD.

20This is the gate of the LORD; The righteous will enter through it.

21I will give thanks to You, for You have answered me, And You have become my salvation.

22A stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone.

23This came about from the LORD; It is marvelous in our eyes.

24This is the day which the LORD has made; Let’s rejoice and be glad in it.

25Please, O LORD, do save us; Please, O LORD, do send prosperity!

26Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the LORD; We have blessed you from the house of the LORD.

27The LORD is God, and He has given us light; Bind the festival sacrifice to the horns of the altar with cords.

28You are my God, and I give thanks to You; You are my God, I exalt You.

29Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His mercy is everlasting.
